Now take 10 minutes and meditate on the idea that aluminum airplane wings could slice through even one of these beams, much less a dozen of them. 200+ of these wrapped around the building.... every few feet.

If I were to design something to break an airplane into pieces, it would look like this.

Airplanes were designed to be light enough to fly with a large amount of cargo and fuel. They were not designed to withstand head-on impacts with buildings.

This is what a BIRD does to a 767 nose cone.

This wall presents about 60 of those beams. I would direct your attention towards the end of the right wing. There is not much mass behind this area of the plane.
